A FATAL MISTAKE.

Hugh Stewart, a bank cashier at Chicago, was driving his wife home in a motor-car at midnight', when lie noticed'another car following. He speeded up but the pursuers did likewise. On reaching his home his wile jumped out, and Stewart drew a revolver and fired two shots, which killed two men in the pursuing car. They proved to be policemen, who thought the Stewarts were carrying kidnappers whom the police were trying to catch.
