Own Correspondent. Owing to the extremely wet seaion in this district this year sheep farmers have been fate in fretting their sheep shorn. Mrs J. Kfi«b!y is leaving shortly to Taranafci to visit her relatives. Mr Knight, who recently purchased Mr Shields' property, has arrived with his wife and famiry to reside in their new home. Mr O. An sell, who purchased Mr R. Gardiner's property, is also in possession with his wife and family. We hold no brief for prohibition fanatics in this valley, as strange to say when the recent plague was *** "raging in this district ever person who used liquor in moderation escaped tbat fell disease. We are not troubled with wandertng stock on the roads here at prelent, owing to tbe county ranger mixing things up a bit. and one of the settlers shooting a stallion that had a roaming committor*.
