The financial position «w placed before the meeting, and disctoned a credit balance of £63 after providing £9O for the Y. U. C. A. and minor donations from results of prevtco* trials. The position of the club it therefore moat aatisfsctory, and members expressed their appreciation, more especially a# the club during *he war period had donated over JBUab to the various patriotic funds. After the financial position bad been folly dealt with, and its various side issued the election of officials then took place as follows: Patron, Mr W. D. Thomson; Prssident, Mr J. E. C. Harrison; Secre* tary, Mr B. Lett; A a distant Secretary, Mr N. Elliott; committee, Messrs G. Lake. B. Paynter, K. Black, A. F. Bignelt, J. McNeice, J. Ennis, A. Sole, T. Commings, G. Bradburr, and McNaelr; Ground Marshal, Mr A. P. Bignelt; Timekeeper, Mr Cross; Shetp Steward, Mr Paynter; Dog Steward, Mr K. Black. Messrs G. Latre, J. McNeiee, J. Ennis and K. Black were elected a committee to take charge of the club's social functions, which they so ably carried oat lest year, with the generous assistance of the ladies of the district and other friends. It was unanimously decided tbt the 13 th annual trials would he ha Id on the dates allotted by the association— April 2nd and 3rd —and that a concert be held the first night and • grand ball on the second! night of the trials, and also- that 50 per cent, of the nett profits be donated to (be local Fallen Soldiers Memorial Fond, the idea being to purchase a suitable area of tarret in tide township, erect a monument in it, with the names of the fallen soldiers suitably inscribed, end to beautify the area with ornamental! trees, etc. This, it is felt, would prove an . ovular demonstration of the feelings of the residents of the district for thoae tbat bad made the supreme sacrifice in the defence of tbeir country, and the rights of humanity, and also to fittingly serve as a lasting reminder to posterity. The club hopes that it wilt again have the pleasure of meeting: old competitors and friends on April 2nd and 3rd, and given Queen's weather they anticipate a vejry successful meeting. The special prizes have been augmented considerably, Messrs J. Old and N. Elliott having donated a silver tea service and Mr N. Street • silver cup, the competition for wbicb will be fully set out in the club's programme and correct cards. Mr J. Scott, "the father" of the Awakino Collie Club, has kindly consented to judge at the trials.
