FAT STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report:— At Westfisld yards on Wednesday, fat cattle were yarded again in full numbers. Competition was very keen, prices improving on last week's rates. Best oxen sold to 40s per 1001b, others 36b to 395; coWb and heifers 34s to 38s; steers sold at from £lO 2s 6d to £2O for a steer from Mr Arthur Nale, Papatoetoe; cowa and heifers £5 to £l2 ss. A draft of 32 steers, small but extra well fatted, from Messrs Friedlander Bros.' Surrey farm, Fokeno, averaged £l4 3a and many other consignments sold at over £l4. Sheep were yarded in full numbers, and declined in price from Is to 2s per head. Best wnoily wethers sold at from 29a to 33s 9d, others 23s 6d to 28a 6d; shorn wethers 19s 6d to 26b; woolly ewes heavyweigts 24s 6d to 27s Cd others 20s 3d to 23a 9d; shorn ewes 18a 3d to 235; hoggets, 17s 6d to 235. Spring lambs, in good numbers, first quality 20b to 235, others lis to 19s 9d. Pigs came forward in full numbers and sold at late rates. Baconers £3 5s to £3 18s, larger purkers £2 5s to £3, porkers 28b to 40s, slips 18s to 22b, weaners 8a *o 16s.
