THE CALUMET HORROR.

MAY SETTLE THE STRIKE. New York, Saturday. As a result of the disaster at the picture theatre, when over 70 lives were lost in the panic, peacemakers are endeavouring to settle the strike which has been raging there for many months, and causing much bloodshed. Investigations are proceeding, but so far there is no clue as to the identity of the stranger who thrust his head through the doorway of the theatre and raised the cry of "Fire!" which led to the stampede.
