MESSAGE FROM MAWSON.
AURORAL OBSERVATIONS. ANXIOUS FOR RETURN. By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright Received Tuesday, 10.15 p. no. Sydney, Tuesday. Dr Mawson wirelessed from Adelie Land thot the first penguins of the season arrived on October 17th. The party killed a large sea leopard at the end of September which landed immediately in front of the house. A heavy southerly swell on October 10th indicated the pack outside had broken up. The party experienced unusually heavy snow falls in spring, and they were only now beginning to recover the stores which had been buried unds" huge masses of snow. This has caused some inconvenience. They have been ahle to send time signals to Melbourne Observatory, which enabled the longitude to be obtained very exactly. They also made auroral observations and secured valuable information regarding the Aurora. AH the members are well ,but are anxious to return.
