BOWLING AND CROQUET CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the above club was held in the Waitomo County office last evening. A large number of members attended, and the president, Mr Stevens, occupied the chair. The secretary read the president's report and the balance-sheet. The latter showed a decided improvement upon the previous year. In his report the president referred to the past year's work, and also play, and congratulated the teams which had taken part in the South Auckland and Northern Bowling Association tournaments, upon their success in those tournaments. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Robison for giving the top-dressine, and to Mr J. F. Walsh for lime and labour given. The election of officers resulted as follows :—President, Mr A. Julian ; vice-presidents, Messrs M. J. Jones and N. C Matthew ; secretary, Mr C. Stevens ; treasurer, Mr J. R. Graham ; committee, Messrs Power, Major Lusk, Cochrane, Williams and J. F. Walsh ; auditor, Mr A. V. Snadden ; delegates, the president and Mr E. A. Power.

A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the outgoing officers ; also a very hearty vote oi thanks to the ladies' committee for the good work done by them during the season was carried by acclamation. Prizes for the past season's competitions were presented to the following : —Championship Singles. Mr E. A. Power. President's Cup; Handicap Singles, Mr E. A. Power, oak tea tray; Handicap Doubles, Mr E. A. Power, entree dish, and Mr C. Rouse, silver-mounted scent bottle. Mr E. A. Power was appointed correspondent for the " Bowling World." It was resolved that the thanks of the club be tendered to the outgoing secretary for the work done by him in the interest of the club. A most successful meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the County Council for the use of the County Chambers.
