A BANKRUPT SOLICITOR.
ALLEGED WORTHLESS ASSETS. [BY TKLEGBAFH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Timaru, This Day. The first adjourned meeting of the creditors of Walter Shaw, bankrupt solicitor, was largely attended. Shaw presented an amended list of creditors making the total £41,147, reducible by securities and overclaims to £29,144. The assets were set out at £42,000, leaving a surplus of over £12,000. The figure 3 have not been checked. One solicitor said they were not worth the paper they were written on; another said several creditors had not yet proved their debts, which would be more like £50,000. Three supervisors and an accountant hava been appuinted to investigate. The meeting agreed to give Mrs Shaw her wedding presents and furniture.
