The Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— We held our first sheep fair of the season at Ohaupo on January 31st, and have to report a most successful sale. There was a large attendance, and buyers being in evidence the sale went with a swing from start to finish. Two and 4 tooth ewes did not meet with the competition expected, and were consequently slightly lower than prices ruling other years, but in all other classes prices were quite as good, if not better. We yarded 4504 lambs, 5409 full mouth ewes, 3857 2 tooth ewes, 1612 4 and 6 tooth, 1117 2 and 4 tooth wethers, and 417 fat sheep, of which 17,001 were sold. We quote: —Fat ewes lis Gd to 13s 2d, heavy fat lambs 15s, fat ewes and wethers 14 9d, well grown 2 tooth ewes 14s 9d to 16s Id, others lis to 13s lOd, 4 and 6 tooth ewes 14s to 15s 2d, good framed sound mouth ewes lis to i3s 3d, old ewes Hs 3d to 10s 6d, forward lambs Ss lOd to 10s lOd, less condition 7s Id to 8s 7d, cull lambs 3s to ss, forward big framed 4 to 6 tooth wethers 16s, 1 tooth wethers 14s 3d to 14s Sd, 2 tooth wethers 12s to 13s Gd. At Wainou on 2nd inat. we yarded 700 head of cattle, 51 pigs, and 1250 sheep. Fat steers made £4 15s to £S, fat cows £5 17s 6d to £6 6s, lighter sorts £4 18s to £5 2s 6d, forward cows £3 19s to £4 12s, store cows £2 Is to £4 12s, store cows £2 10s to £3 12s 6d, 15 and 18 months steers £2 la to £3 9s, same age heifers £2 15s to £2 17s, choice 2 year heifers been with bull £4 5s to £5 3s, good calves 33s to £2 2s, others 5s to 30s springing heifers £5 7s Gd to £6, cows £5 10s to £7, fat ewes 12s, fat lambs 14s 3d, porkers 2Ss, slips 16s to 17s 6d, weaners 12s 6d to 13s 6d, 2 year draught colts £22, medium draught mares £3O to £34, drill £l6 10s. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:—

At our annual sheep fair at Ngaruawahia on February 2nd, a full yarding of sheep came forward, well above advertised numbers. The sheen were of excepional qualitty. especially the wethers and lambs which were of very high order. The attendance was fair, but nearly all were buyers and competition was keen throughout except for young ewes. Altogether the fair was most successful, nearly all the line 3 changing hands. Quotations: Fat wethers lGs, fat ewes 12s 46, 4 and 6 tooth wethers 15s 2d to 15s Id, 2 tooth wethers 13s to 15s Sd, 2 tooth ewes 14s to 15s, 2 tooth ewes, small lis 7d to 12s 4d, 4 and 5 year ewes lis 7d to 12s 9d, sou:.d mouth ewes 9s 6d to lis 4d, lambs, good and prime 11 Bd, fair woolly lambs lis to 9s 6d, cull lambs 4s (3d to 5s Id. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: — At Ohaupo on January 30th, we had a good muster of cattle, mainly calves, to 2 year olds, and all changed hands at auction or afterwards. Prices:—2 year steers £4 5s to £4 7s (Id, 16 month steers £3 4s to £3 7s Gd, yearlings £2 15s to £2 17s 6d, yearling heifers £2 12s to £2 17s, 18 month heifers £3 14s, weaner calves 28s to 355, cows and calves £4 2s to £4 lis, cows in forward condition £3 18s to £1 7s, fat cows £5 15s, weighty bulls £5 10s to £6, dairy cows £5 15s to £(3 ss, springing heifers £5 15s to £6 7s 6d.
