TE KUITI RACING CLUB.

A committee meeting of the above club was held in the secretary's office last evening, Mr N. B. Lusk in the chair.

The payment of the sum of £IOO, part payment of freehold of course, was authorised.

The accounts, as read, were passed for payment. The following . new members were elected: —Dr Paxton, J. B. Sharpies and F. T. Lipscombe. A letter was received from the secretary of the Auckland Racing Club, stating that the Bay of Plenty Jockey Club wished to change the date of their meeting from the 10th to the Bth of February.—Resolved that a decided objection be made to this request and that the secretary explain by letter Te Kuiti Club's reasons for raisin" their objection. The matter of starter for the forthcoming meeting was discussed and Mr R. E. Jackman, of Auckland, was appointed. Arrangements were made in connection with the printing and advertising for the meeting. The date of closing nominations was fixed for January sth, handicaps to appear on January 13th, and acceptances to close January 31st. It was decided that in the place of re-handicapping fixed penalties be established. It was resolved that the secretary obtain saddle-cloths.

The secretary was instructed to obtain the services of eight gatekeepers.

The matter of arranging starting barriers was left in the hands of the chairman.

It was resolved that joint action be taken with the A. and P. Society in requesting the Railway Department to put in a loading bank at Te Kumi station and make other minor alterations.

The matter of arranging for special trains, etc., was left in the hands of the chairman and secretary.

Resolved that tenders be called for the rerfeshment booths. •
