WAIKATO BOXING ASSOCIATION.
The Waikato Boxing Association will hold a grand carnival in the Town Hall, Hamilton, on Thursday next, 30th inst., which should prove to be the athletic event of the year. A heavy-weight encounter of six rounds ha 3 been arranged between W. Hogg, of Hamilton, and G. Barclay, of Manunui, who at present holds the heavy-weight championship of Waikato, and a sterling bout is premised by these two hoxers, who have met once before. A professional contest has also been arranged between the middle-weight Holt, and Olsen, of Auckland. Both men are boxing as professionals for the first time, and as they have met on several occasions before a3 amateui-3, the bout should be well worth seeing. It is a match that would draw a crowded house in Auckland. Other matches are being arranged, and altogether a good night's soort is assured. Particulars and prices are advertised to-day.
