Prices j improved on last week's quotations. I Oxen sold to 25s per lUOlb; cow and i heifers 21s to 245; steers sold at from j£7 to £ll 17s Gd, cows £5 to £8 17s | 6d. Calves yarded in larger numbers j than usual, sold well; heavy weights j from 30s to £3 9s, others 3s to 27s j (Id. A draft of well fatted steers j from Mr J. B. Jordon, Kuuukapakapa, [averaged A* 11 10s. Sheep, short supi ply, showed a slightly upward tenidency; ewes, from 13s to 21s 6d i vprizetakers at Cambridge Agriculi trual Show) ; wethers, from 13s to I 26s (also prizetakers at Cambridge). I Lambs, yarded in less numbers than usual, sold from 7s 3d tu 12s 9d. 1 Pigs, in moderate supply. Bacon ' pigs, from 35s to 575, porkers from i 19s 6d to 32s 6d, weaners from 5s to i 9s.

Saturday, I held my autumn horse fair at Tattersall's Stables, New Plymouth, when a fair number j of horses were yarded, though, owing to the threatening weather, a number ! of those catalogued did not come for- | ward. There was a good attendance, bat vendors and purchasers were not i in accord as to the present market ; values and a large number of horses ■ were passed in under the reserves. ■ Draught filly 3 years made £l3 15s to £ls 15s, draught gelding 4 years £2l 10s to £26, yearling draught colt £lO, 2 year draught filly £l6, half-draught filly 3 years £l2 to £l3 15s, half-draught gelding 6 years £l2 to £ls, aged half-draughts £5 10s to £lO 15s, hacks made from £5 to £l2, aged do. £1 to £4, pair of Shetland s £ll 2s 6d.
At Ureni on Monday weaners made up to 375, 15 to IS months steers £2 8s 6d to £3 53, 20 months steers £3 lis to £3 16s 6d, 18 months heifers r.w.b. £4 8s 6d, springing heifers £4 17s 6d to £5 ss, store cows £2 6s to £3 16s, forward do. £4 4s to £4 14s Gd, fat cows £5, fat heifers £4 10s, 2 to 22. year steers £4 lis to £4 13s 6d" 3 year do. £4 18s to £5 2s, do. forward condition £5 4s, bulls £3 10s.
At Stratford on Tuesday there was a good yarding with a good attendance of buyers and most lines yarded were sold at the following rates: —Mixed weaners 21s to 30s, weaner heifers 27s 6d to 42s Gd, 20 month steers good quality £3 5s to £3 13s 6d, 2 year heifers r.w.b. £4 2s to £4 6s, store cows £3 9s 6d to £3 17s, forward £4 to £4 12s 6d, fat cows £4 16s to £5 7s Gd, fat heifers £3 19s Gd, 2\ year steer good condition £5, 3 year do. £5 14s Gd, bulls £2 I7s Gd to £5, stag £3, wether lambs- 5s 7d, mixed lambs 6s Gd, culls 3s. At Stony River on Wednesday there was a good yarding with keen demand, nearly everything being sold at the hammer. Mixed weaners made 27s to 345, weaner heifers 35s Gd, weaner steers 355, 18 month heifers r.w.b. £3 8s 6d, 15 months steers £2 7s, store cows £2 4s Gd to £4 13, forward £4 8s 6d to £4 lis, fat cows £5 13s, 3 year steers £5 17s, forward do. £6 6s, stag £4 6s, heavy bulls £5 17s 6d to £7 15s, ordinary £3 4s 6d to £4 17s, f.m. ewes 7s Gd. At Whangamomona on the same day I held my supplementary sheep fair and cattle fair, when above 6000 sheep and 250 head of cattle were yarded, most lines being sold at the hammer or afterwards, Wean-
ers made 31s, IS months steers £3 5s to £3 7s, 2 years steers £4 ss, 3 to 3A year do. £5 lis to £5 12s 6d, 2 year heifers r.w.b. £5 7s 6d, IS months do. £3 12s Gd, IS months empty heifers £2 17s (id, 2 tooth ewes 12s 9d to 13s lOd, 4, 6 and f.m. ewes lis, f.m. ewes 5s to 7s Gd, culls 3s 2d, 2 tooth wethers Ss to lis Id, 4 tooth 13s 6d, rams 1 to 2 years old 6s to 9s. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday, I held my usual weaner fair, when weaners came forward in advertised numbers. Good quality weaners met with ready sale though poor conditioned ones were hard to dispose of. Mixed weaners made 28s 6d to 35s 6d, weaner steers 24s to 335, weaner heifers 28s 6d to 435, weaner bull Jersey strain 365.
