They were expecting imprisonment. Militant tactics have been suspended, pending the Premier's announcement of the fate of the reconciliation Bill. Meanwhile pickets have been placed outside the House of Commons, as n peaceful protest. SUFFRAGETTE STRIKES PREMIER MOUNTED POLICE CLEAR STREETS. Received November 23, 10.15 a.m. London, Laßt Night. A suffragette struck the Premier in Parliament Square. The police hurried Mr Asquith into a taxi-cab and the women then broke its windows. Hundreds afterwards invaded Downing street, and a wild struggle followed in which many women and men were thrown d«wn. The mounted police cleared the streets and 9H arrests were effected, including Mrs Pankhurst and Mrs Doctor Garrett Anderson.
