Ohura.

A very enjoyable evening was spent at the musical social and dance, held by the Ohura Gymnastic and Boxing Association in the Mangaroa Hall on Friday, 16th inst. Songs wore given by Miss Loft, Miss Loveday and Messrs H. Aves, Steve, Watts, and A. Barnett. The undoubted success of the function was in a great measure due to the kindness of the ladies, especially Mesdames Williams and Aves, who rendered great assistance to the committee in preparing supper, and to Misses Loveday and Loft, who devoted a great deal of their time to the preparation of the musical items. Messrs J. F. McClenaghan and A. Rosenfeldt, the M.C's., are to be congratulated upon the excellent manner in which the dance arrangements were carried out. It is to be hoped that the success which has attended this venture will lead to the association holding other similar functions which will add socially to the benefit it already is to the community.
