AUCKLAND AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

The Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association was favoured, with ideal weather for the. show on Friday and Saturday last, and the Associationcan he congratulated upon having achieved a record in all departments. Horses and cattle were • well exhibited, and the sheep though fewer in number than last lyear were of excellent quality. The machinery, and industrial exhibits of all kinds were ahead of those seen at any previous show, and the very line display by the Agricultural Department was highly appreciated. The dairy exhibit was a feature of the show, and emphasised the fact thai Auckland is taking first place in that branch of industry in thecolony. The W'aikato district was well represented in all classes and occupied a wry prominent place of the prize list. In the bloodstock and draught horse classes, Mr W. Taylor look several prizes, while saddle horses and hunters from W'aikato were also highly successful, In the cattle section, Mr W. Taylor secured championship honours for Shorthorn bulls, besides several other prizes, while I lie Kercoiie Ksfate. (lovernmenl Kxpcrimental larm, M W. T. Mall and Mr C. Day were siJF cess I'u I exhibitors of Shorthorns Herefonls, Ayrshires and jerseys. The prizes for tne dairy produce were very keenly contested, and the Dairy Commissioner (Mr J. Cuddy) said he was greatly surprised to find there had been such a marked improvement }n the quality of Auckland butter during the last two years.
