RAM AND EWE FAIR

The annual ram and ewe fair was held at Messrs Pyne, Gould, Guinness’s saleyards on Alon day when there was an entry of upwards of 10,000 sheep forward, including a number of lambs. There were a few outstanding pons, but the majority of the yarding was of a nondescript order. For good sheep prices were about 1/ per head above Addington prices and old sheep and backward sorts slumped. The lambs offered were mostlv backward sorts. The sale did not commence until after 10 o’clock, and was not finished until 7 o’clock, by which time many farmers had left the yards. Mr G. Hamilton of Hapuiku secured highest price for SO two-tooth ewes making 27/. Details are as follows: — Salos were made on account of:
