THE MAYFAIR THEATRE

“I MET HIM IN PARIS.” The romantic picture, “I Afet Him in Paris,” screened at the Mayfair Theatre on Saturday night, proved humorous and was pleasing to patrons. The picture will be screened for the last time to-night. ‘ ‘ HEAD OVER HEELS. ’ ’ TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY'. “Head Over Heels,” Jessie Matthews’ biggest and brightest musical for Gaumont-British, introduces four new faces to the screen, and between Jessie and these people occur some of th<‘ most amusing scenes in the film. There are her two leading men, Robert Flomyng, from Dublin, and Louis Borrell, who is Dutch, both of whom are good-looking and sure of instant success. Then there is Romney Brent, a little better known, his last appearance was with George Arliss in “East Aleets West,” and Edward Cooper, who is very well-known on the English music halls. Jessie sings no less than six song hits in “Head Over Heels.” Tn “Head Over Heels,” Jessie Matthews, the “dancing divinity” of English films, makes another even more scintillating appearance, singing six new song hits and wearing many lovely gowns. Her hubby. Sonnie Hale, directs iiis wife in this, his first film, and already it has had England and America raving. Don’t miss it ! A special support, “Magic Shoos,” will also ben screened.

“Lot’s Got Afarriod” and “Fighting Shadows,” are the attractions for Thursday and Friday, and on Saturday night the highly-exciting film “Slave Ship” will bo soroonod together with the Public Works picture. Patrons are advised to hook early. Saturday night’s screening will commence at 7.

SPECIAL SCREENING AT THE MAYFAIR ON SATURDAY NEXT.

Arrangements have been made to present a special Public Works picture on behalf of the Hon. R. Semple next Saturday. For the convenience of patrons tho usual picture programme, which will consist of “Slave Ship” and shorts, will commence at 7 o’clock. At 9.15 the Public Works film will he screened, following which the Afinister will deliver a public address which should prove of vital interest to Kaikoura residents.
