OBITUARY

MR F. C. EMMS. The death occurred early on Sunday morning of Mr Frank Chevalier Emms, of Grange Road, after a short illness. The deceased was born at Leeston and came to Kaikoura in 1898, became associated with auctioneering firms, and later opened the branch of the Farmers’ Co-op. store. He took an interest in all departments of sport and other activities in the district, and was secretary of the Trotting Club, Collie Club, and second secretary of the A. and P. Association. Subsequently .he became engaged in farming at Grange Road and continued in this until the time of his death. He married Miss Wayland and is survived by his widow and two sons — Frank and Jack, both of Kaikoura.

All will regret the passing of Ihe deceased and the deepest sympathy will be felt for Mrs Emms and her two sons and relatives.
