KAIKOURA CYCLISTS

PRESENTATION THIS EVENING The committee responsible for the organisation of the function to be held at the Drill Hal) this evening, at which Messrs D. Aitken, C. B. Wareham, B. G. Miles, and C. Stack will ‘ be the guests of honour, met last night. An apology was received for the absence of Air F. Smith. The chairman (Air A'. Wright) reported that the Kaikoura Road Race Committee had generously donated £4 towards the fund, with the recommendation that any surplus from the proceeds of the dance be given to the Combined School Sports Association. In moving a vote of thanks to the Road Race Committee, the Rev. Father Devlin said the suggestion was a commendable one and should be agreed to. He also asked that a letter of appreciation be sent to the committee. On the motion of Mr AL Mackie, seconded by Air J. G. Stack, it was decided to adopt the recommendation. The ladies’ committee reported that everything was going along satisfactorily and that the ladies would meet at the Drill Hall at 2.30 to-day to prepare the supper. It was decided to invite the parents of the cyclists to the function. It was reported that Mr E. I’. Meachen, M.P., would be in the district and attend the dance.
