MARKET IMPROVES 5 PER CENT. SYDNEY, November 2. A new record for Australia for this season was created at the Sydney wool sales to-day, when 28d was paid for five bales of greasy merino. The market showed an improvement of 5 per cent, for all except faulty descriptions, which were firm at late rates. A special feature was the spirited and sustained competition for stylish wools of fine to superfine quality. Yorkshire and France were the principal operators, and there was restricted support from other Continental sources
