SUMNER-REDCLIFFS v. KAIKOURA
Twenty-five members of the Sumner- • Redcliffs Club paid a visit to Kaikoura 1 on Saturday and had an easy win over Kaikoura. Air P. Le Brun donated a trophy for 1 the best score over two targets. The ‘ shoot resulted in three Sumner men and 5 two Kaikoura mon (D. Roberts and 1 Pacey) being equal. Kaikoura will fir? off to-morrow night. Air H. Hayward, President of the • Kaikoura Chib, extended a welcome to ; the visitors and expressed the hope that they would have an enjoyable stay in Kaikoura. He mentioned that the ■ club aimed at securing a building of its own and an effort was being made to secure funds for the purpose. I Air C. Hart (President of the Sumner Club) thanked Air Hayw/ard for the hearty welcome given the visitors and for the hospitality extended to > them. • Air J. Edmonds contributed £5 towards the building fund, for which he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
KAIKOURA CLUB The weekly button shoot was fired on Monday night. Mrs G. McKenzie and Mrs A. Storer tied for the senior button, the former winning on the shootoff. Mrs R. Shadbolt won the junior brooch. G. McKenzie won the men’s senior button and R. Shadbolt the junior button. The following were the scores:— Women Mrs G. McKenzie 69, Mrs A. Storer 69, Mrs D. Roberts 68, Mrs D. Low 68, Mrs R. Shadbolt 63. Mrs T. Reardon 60. Men G. McKenzie 69, R.. Shadbolt 69, R. Mahoney 68, J. A. Johnston <5B, C. Pacey 68, L. Shannon 68, H. Hayward' 68, b. Roberts 67, A.
