PROGRESS LEAGUE.

CONFERENCE HELD IN KAIKOURA A conference of the Canterbury, Marlborough, and South Alarlborough Progress Leagues took place on Saturday evening, when the following delegates wore in attendance:—Messrs W. T. Churchward (President of the Marlborough League), W. J. Girling, and F. Mogridge, James Carr (President of the Canterbury League), J. E. Strachan, W. J. Boyce, P. R. Climie, R. Rickcrby (Canterbury League), A. Gooch, W. Af.

Acton-Adams, J. Snushall, C. A. Jensen, and A. B. Clark (South Alarlborough League). Air E. F. Healy, AI.P., also attended. The northern and southern delegates expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work on the South Island Alain Trunk Railway. The proceedings wei'c not open to the Press. On behalf of the South Alarlborough League Air Gooch moved a hearty vote of thanks to the visiting delegates.
