INANGAHUA COUNTY COUNCIL
The ordinary monthly meeting was held to-day at 10.30 a.m. Present: Crs W Blackadder (chair), J B Auld, J O Byrne, D Panckhurst, Thos. WatsoD, F W Archer, \V Clayton, J O'Regan. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and the outward correspondence was read and approved. A motion of condolence with the relatives of the late G C Black. M.P. for Motueka, was .moved hy the Chairman, who feelingly referred to the work that had been done by the late member, laying stress oil his efforts during the earthquake period. Cr Clayton seconded this, and it was carried by members standing in silence. From Thos. Phillips, L E Morgan (2), Fell and Harley, the Public Trustee, and Thos. Bell, notifying sales of property and requesting amendment to rolls —Rolls to he amended. From District Public Trustee advising the administration ■ of certain estates —Received. From Mining Registrar adviee re residence sites dealt with during month of September, 1932 —Received. From Reefton School of Mines thanking Counoil for donation— Received. From Hon. Minister of Mines advising that Mt. David Sluicing Company has been granted a reduction in rent to 2s 6d per acre for one year from 1/7/1932 —Received. From Cr J O'Regan, re Wairoa earthquake. Cr Clayton moved, Cr Blackadder seconded that a subscription list be opened, and that the County donate £5 for relief — Carried. From Medical Officer of Health, re contribution for Health Inspector s services, and advising that Inspector R McCrone of Westport will now serve the Inangahua County—Cr Watson moved, and Cr Archer seconded Mr McCrone be appointed Inspector for Inangahua County. From Health Inspector, report for September, 1932 —Received. From Chairman Greymouth Harbour Board re report of National Expenditure Commission—Resolved that the Council support the Harbour Board in the above. From H E Holland Esq, M.P on same matter —Received. From Messrs H E Holland and A E Jull M.P.'s on matter of Economy Commission’s report re the diverting of revenue payable to local bodies —Received. From Hon. Minister of Pensions , re miners' widows' pensions.— Received. From J. T. Switzer and F. B. Hoy, applications to oonneot their premises with the town water service.—Connections to be made snbi ject to usual conditions.
