BURGLARY

AT MAJESTIC THEATRE A POOR HAUI. (Per United Press Assn.) I ' INVERCARGILL, Last Night. An unsuccessful attempt to blow open a safe in the office of the Majestic Theatre was made last evening or early this morning; but although gelignite was apparently used on the safe, it resisted the effort of the burglars and was only slightly damaged. Entrance was effected through an unlocked window. Foiled in their attempt, the burglars had to be content with 4/- in money, which was in the office. Holes were bored in the exit doors, which the intruders were unable to open and they made their escape in this manner. This is the second attempt to rob the Theatre, as about two months ago. an unsuccessful endeavour was made to enter the building.
