Suicide.
S'er Press Association. '' Thames,-May.;. What appears to be a case of suicide is reported to the police. Elsie Johnston aged 23 years, the daughter of a Thames resided, left her home on Thursday and has not been seen since. On Thursday she wasseen heading for Kauranga Valley where there is a river, deep in 'places. Yesterday a note was found in a drawer in which the girl expressed the intention of making away with heiself. A search of the river was make and a party found a hat and boots, in the vicinity of a deep pool._ The police are now dragging the river. It appears that the girl became despondent because she failed to secure employment. Her mind became unhinged.
. . May 10. At the inquest on Elsie Johnston, it was stated deceased • left a note, addressed to family, expressiag her determination to end it all. Her home life was happy and comfortable and she wanted for nothing. A verdict of temporary insanity was returned. Some years ago a cousin drowned herself-in almost the same spot.
