The work of cutting out the chamber and timbering the same is completed, and the reef is being driven on for a few feet further north, in order to get a more solid part of the ground to sink on. Sinks ing on the stone will doubtless be commenced nexfc week. Application has been made for ground once known as the Newington lease, adjoining this mine on the north, and situated on a fine looking spur, which should at the least be worth a course of prospeoting. I*f o work whatever has been done on the ground, and if operations are shortly commenced, the situation will doubtless command some attention.
