It is now beyond all question of a doubt that a great future is in store for the shareholders in this claim, which must inevitably rank as one of the best mines in the field. The main level presents ft really splendid body of stone, and it remains yet to be seen how far the same will extend. The workings simply show an excavation about 25 feet wide, in which a mass of gold-bearing stone is disclosed, and appears to improve in quality as the work' of every day proceeds. To describe the exact character, bearings, and dimensions of the reef cannot at present be done, as on both sides the opening referred to shows a face of quartz from ten to twelve feet thick, and on what is callod the new reef no hanging wall ha? yet been met with. Payable stone for 120 feet from the point where the lode originally branched off has already been driven on. The scraping of the plates for last week denotos an average ofl2dwts, j which from a body of stone of the dimensions above stated may certainly be considered a highly payable venture.
