EUROPEAN. Bombay, May 9. Mr Gladstone's unexpected with* drawal of his resolution, caused a scene of tumult and confusion. Lord Hartington accepted the re* mainder. Mr Gladstone ' vigorously attacked the policy. . , Mr Wolffe moved the rejection oi the motion. Mr Cross, Secretary of Home Department, said, Czar was answerable for the rupture which had taken place, but if Constantinople were not attacked, no question as to English interests would arise. The present policy of England was to protect the Suez Canal and English interests in Egypt, and forbid any interference with the freedom of the Dardanelles and Bosporus.
