KEEP IT DARK.
The face on tbe main level continues to carry a fine solid lode, and maintains the same thickness as mentioned last week. The uprise has reached the distance of 18 feet, and still holds a good solid body of clean stone. Throughout the whole of tbe workings for several weeks past, a very large body of payable quartz has been proved to exist, and exceptionally good specimens bave been occasionally met with. Tbe entire bulk of the s.one cannot be pronounced lich, but tbe numerous advantages which ore afforded by all outside works beiog already constructed connecting the mioe with the battery, anil a considerable amount of underground work being also available for opening up this recently discovered reef, there is scarcely the slightest doubt but most satisfactory results will be obtained, and a greater likelihood of shareholders receiving dividends for a considerable time than h**s previously presented itself since this mine was first opened. About 80 tons of stone hnve accumulated in ihe paddocks from driving tbe level and constructing the rise, ond the battery was put in motion tbis morning, and will be kept going by day only until this stone has been passed through,
