LARGE ENTRIES
KOPU STOCK SALE FAT HEIFER MAKES £23 Messrs Dalg,ety and Company Ltd., report that large entries of all classes of' stock were yarded at the fortnightly Kopu sale before a large bench of buyers and very firm values ruled throughout the sale. Sheep: Good entries of sheep met a firm demand and sold at firm late rates. They quote: prime S.D. hoggets, £3/9/3; good W.F. wether hoggets,' £3/0/8; other hoggets, £2/14/6 to £2/18/6.
Dairy cattle: Entries in this class are now falling off rapidly buti the demand for calved and c.t.p'. is still good. Good cows and heifers realised £l6 to £l7/10/-; average, £l4 to £l's/10/-; more backward, £ll to £l2/10/-.
Store cattle: A nice line of yearling Jersey heifers realised £l2/2/-; empty two-year-old heifers and young paddock cows, £8 to £lO/107-. Beef: A large entry of all classes of beef was penned and sold under strong competition, prices realised 'being, heavy bullocks, £33; medium, £25/17/6; lighter, £23; unfinished, £l9/12/6; good cows, £l6 to £l7/15/-; medium, £l3/10/- to £l5/15/-; lighter, £ll/10/- to 1212/17/6; plain, £9/10/to £ll. A very prime heifer sold at £23. Boner and works cows were in strong demand, heavy boners selling to £l2/2/-.
A large entry of potter bulls sold freely, heavy bulls selling at £l6 to £18; other bulls according to weight, £l2 to £l5/10/-.
Pigs: Heavy fcaconers made £7/17to £ll3l medium, £6/10/- to £6/14/-; light, £6 to £6/8/-; heavy porkers, £5/10/- to £5/18/-; medium, £5 to £5/8/-; good stores, £4/8/- to £4/18/-; small, £B/8/-; weaners, £l/15/- 'to S2.I&I".
