The proposal to clear a trial length of 20 chains of the Waihou river between Te Aroha and Mangaiti at. an estimated cost of £3OO had been approved on the basis of a £3 to £1 subsidy, stated Mr O. G. Thornton, district Hamilton, in a letter to the November meeting of the Hauraki Catchment Board.
