TURUA SCHOOL

CALF CLUB DAY CHAMPIONSHIP TO J. WOODS It was calf club day last week at the Turua school when there was a good attendance making the show a most successful one. Jill Woods won the championship with her entry and Eric Madgwick secured the reserve championship. Mrs W. S. Grey presented the ribbons to the prize winners. Mr W. McKenzie acted as judge with Mr J. Edgecombe as associate judge. An address on the rearing of calves was given by Mr D. G. McMillan, president of the Hauraki Calf Club. Group. The headmaster, Mr E. Wells, congratulated the winners. Competitions were won by Barry Ward and Harry Mules. The ring stewards were Graeme Whitehead and Graham Mitchell and calf stewards, Barry Allen and Abby Taylor. Results of the judging were:—
