PERMIT REFUSED
UNFIT FOR OCCUPANCY
HOUSE IN PAEROA
REPORT OF THE INSPECTOR
“I have carried out an inspection of a building in Rye lane and have refused to issue a permit,” stated Mr W. L. Oliver, building inspector, to the Paeroa Borough Council in a report to the October meeting of the council.
The inspector stated that an application had been made for a permit in respect of an extension and lowering of the roof of an old building which was in such an unsound condition that it would not stand repairs and was not fit for occupation.
The inspector recommended that a demolition order in respect of the building be issued. Cr N. C. Davies was of opinion that the building committee should make an inspection and he moved that the matter be referred to the ‘building committee. The motion was duly carried.
