NO HOUSE
PAEROA TEACHER
MAY HAVE TO LEAVE PROBLEM FOR COMMITTEE The possibility of having to seek another position owing to lack of accommodation was mentioned at the October meeting of the Paeroa District High School committee by a master at the school.
The master in a letter explained that he occupied a house owned by a lady who had given him notice to yield up possession as she, an aged beneficiary, required it for her own occupation. The master stated his wife was acting in a relieving capacity in the manual and technical branch of the school and failing alternative accommodation, both her and his wife might have to seek positions elsewhere.,
Mr D. G. Sinclair stated that it was the policy of the Government and departments to look after their staff and the latest information was that £4,000,000 was to be spent on departmental houses. He suggested that the Auckland Education Board be advised as to the position and a request made for the building of departmental houses or the purchase of such for school teachers. It was resolved that the suggestion be adopted and that a copy of the letter to the Auckland Education Board be forwarded to M|r '!A. :S. Sutherland, M.P.
