GOLF CLOSING
MARAMARUA SEASON ENDS ■ WINNERS OVER THE YEAR Maramarua Golf Club held its closing day recently in perfect weather, visitors being present from Hauraki Plains and Auckland. Mr L. Pacey, president, welcomed old friends and outlined club activities during the season. The continued interest of the patron, Mr L. S. James, was greatly appreciated. Mr Pacey thanked all thoselwho had co-operated in the wdrk as well as the play. . The greens had shown marked improvement and many ybung players ‘were now on reduced handicaps and figured for the first time among the prize winners. Mr T. Burns, president of the Hauraki Club, expressed thanks to the club on 'behalf of the visitors. Among the prize winners were:— Men: Senior championship, li. Wharfe.’ Junior championship, R. Motion; runner-up< W. Motion. Ladies: Senior championship, Mrs G. Pope. Junior championship, Miss M. Motion; runner-up, A. Holder. Gilberd.cup medal, S. Finlayson. Dunlop cup stableford, R. Motion. Hodder rose bowl, Mrs F. Symes. . Ladies’ stableford, Mrs F. Colbeck. Colbeck trophy, match play: Men, E. Bradstreet; ladies, Mrs G. Pope. Buckingham trophy, bogey: Men, G. Grant; ladies, Mrs A. Holder. Hughes and Cossar medal, I. Heaven.
