AUGUST MEETING HELD

RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS

The monthly meeting of the Waikino Women’s Institute took place recently, Mrs Metcalfe, the president, presiding over a small attendance.

The motto was “of all the things you wear; your expression ia the most important.” The meeting decided to stop sending parcels to Britain. A birthday spray was presented to Mrs Lee. Mrs Metcalfe, the delegate to the conference, was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks for her report. The results of the points competition were:—

Best article made from 1 yard of print, Mrs Webster, 1. . Monthly competition, four pieces of shortbread, Mrs Southerby. Best bloom, Mrs Lindsay. Best cluster, Mrs Lindsay. Best spike, Mrs Webstar.
