PAEROA BASKETBALL
THAMES TOURNAMENT TWO TEAMS REACH FINALS The club teams of the Paeroa Basketball Association which travelled to* Thames on Saturday last accounted for themselves very well, High School A and St Joseph Old Gilds’ reaching the final in the Thames tournament. For the final there were three teams even so they had to play off. St Joseph Old Girls played High School A and at the call of time both teams were even so they played to the next goal. High School potted a nice goal to win the match. Then High School played Tuakau and was beaten by seven goals to five. High School Old Girls played very well but they were not just strong enough for their opponents. Results are as follows: —
iSt Joseph Old Girls 4, lost to Tuakau 10; St Joseph Old Girls 3, defeated High School A 5; St Joseph Old Girls 10, defeated Thames High School Old Girls 6.
High School A 10, defeated Ohildswear 3; High School A 10, defeated Thames High School Old Girls 6; High School A '5, lost to St Joseph Old Girls 6; High School A .9, defeated Tuakau 5; High School A defeated St Joseph Old Girls 6; High School A 5, lost to Tuakau 7. High School Old Girls 6, lost to College Old Girls 9; High School Old Girls 5, lost to High School, A 10; High School Old Girls 6, drew with Childswear 6; High School Old Girls 8, defeated Coromandel 4.
