WOMEN’S DIVISION

ANNUAL MEETING HELD KEREPEHI ELECTS OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Kerepehi Women’s Division of Federated Farmers’ wals held recently in the Kerepehi hall when Mrs J. Quinn presided over a very good attendance of members.

Mrs Quinn read Mrs Bailey’s annual report and the secretary and treasurer read the balance sheet. A vote of thanks and appreciation for their work during the year was accorded the president and the secretary.

The election of officers was as follows :—

President, Mrs W. Bailey; vicepresident, Mesdames J. Quinn and J. Lynch; Mrs A. Wentworth; advisory members, Mesdames J. Quinn and S. Garrett; committee, Mesdames J. Lynch, A. Harvey, R. Trembath, E. Flynn, A. Redwood and W. Martin; trustees, Mesdames A. L. Fisher and 0. M. Strong; delegates to the sub-provincial meeting, Mesdames M. Shilton and V. M. Strong. It was decided to send a floral tribute to Mrs Bailey, who is in hospital, with members best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Letters of appreciation and thanks are to be sent to Mr R. Wentworth, auditor, and to the press. A general discussion took place on the work for the coming year and it was decided to help the school committee in any effort it might arrange to raise funds for the school.

The competition was won by Mrs W. Martin and other winners were:—

Best bloom, Mrs Trembath, 1; Mrs Ryan, 2; Mrs Lynch, 3. Shoulder sprays, Mrs Patterson, 1; Mrs Prestidge, 2; Mrs Flynn, 3. Points prize for the best bloom, Mesdames Strong and Ryan, equal, 1; Mrs J. Lynch, 2. Shoulder sprays, Mrs Prestidge, 1; Mrs Innes, 2.

The hostesses at luncheon were Mesdames A. L. Fisher, F. Scott, A. Hayes and R. Harvey, and for afternoon tea were Mesdames D. Hill, J. Lynch, V. Strong and H. Booth.
