WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

GROUP MEETING THAMES-HAURAKI DISTRICT The monthly meeting of the executive committee of the Thames-Hauraki Plains District Federation of Women’s Institute was held recently in Thames, when Mrs N. L. Lithgow presided over the following members: Mesdames C. V. Marceau, F. D. Symes, J. A. Isdale, M. McCoiKbe, M. Crawford, V. Stocker and A. Carter and sitting-in were Mesdames E. Woods, of Turua, and K. Way and Carey, of Kopuarahi.

Mrs McCombe reported on the Rotorua drama conference, which had very helpful suggestions to put forward.

Plans were discussed for the annual council meeting to be held in Thames in April next, when a report of the nill year’s work would be given; The resignation of Mrs V. Stocker of Mercury Bay, who was leaving the district was received with regret and Mrs Lithgow thanked her for the valuable service given to the executive.
