PENINSULA NEWS MUCH DELAY

COMPLETION OF WORK COUNTY YARD BUILDINGS DISCUSSION BY COUNCIL How much longer would it be before the county yard buildings would be completed, was the question asked by Cr. F. H. Purdom at the May meeting of the Coromandel County Council. Cr. Purdom pointed out that valuable material was lying out in the open and that only one man, the town surfaceman, was working on the job. He suggested that on wet days some of the county employees could be employed completing inside work and he asked that the works committee be empowered to engage local builders so that the work could be completed.

After discussion the council decided that the works committee be authorised to have the work expedited.
