PAEROA BASKETBALL PROSPECTS FOR SEASON OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The annual meeting of the Paeroa Basketball Association was held recently. The following officers were elected: President, Miss M. Taylor; secretary, Miss M. Vincent; treasurer, Mrs G. Fulton; vice-presidents, Mesdanies W. J. Enticott, A. Boulton and Mclntosh, Messrs G. Bethune, D. Vincent, J. Fleming and R. Moore (Auckland). Mrs Fulton was congratulated on the fine play of the High School girls in all their matches. It was reported that the prospects for the new season were very bright and many new players were forthcoming. In presenting the annual report the president, Miss M. Taylor, said that during the tournament at Rotorua last year a Paeroa player, Miss M. Gerrand, had the honour to be chosen to play in a combined team against the Australian players. Miss Gerrand however was unable to play owing to receiving an injury in a previous match. In thanking all those who had assisted in making the 1948 season such a successful one, Miss Taylor made special mention of the services rendered by Miss M. Mclntosh as referee. Miss M. Shaw was also a most willing helper and her work was very much appreciated.

MATCHES ON SATURDAY TEAMS ANNOUNCED The following is the draw for matches to be played on Saturday in the points competition of the Paeroa Basketball Association. First matches commence at 1.15 p.m. A grade: Convent A v. Convent B; High School A v. Netherton; High School Old Girls a bye. B grade: High School C v. Convent C; Berlei v. High School B.
