OVER £50 IN CREDIT
CARNIVAL FUNDS donation to band Although expenses for the last Nair Year carnival staged by the Paersa Chamber of Commerce, totalled £5O 2s 6d, a credit balance of £52 4s still remains towards this year’s festivities. The secretary of the chamber, Mr J. H. Bartlett, gave this information at the February meeting. He reported that in 1947 the sum of £4B 9s had been collected, and in 1948, £1,4 15s, making a total of £63 4s. The balance of this, after ice cream, paper hats and organising expenses had been paid, together with an amount in the Post Office Savings Bank, left a favourable credit for this year. Mr W. R. Pirie was thanked for hi* services as M.C. and it was decided to send a donation of £5 to the Kerepehi Boys’ Band for their assistance.
