Railway replied with 79 runs, which was eight runs short of High School total, R. Howard 30, being the principal ■ scorer for Railway. M. Millar and D. Fitch bowled well for High School, taking five and three wickets respectively. M. Millar created a sensation by taking four wickets with five balls, including the “hat trick.” This is the first time that this feat has been accomplished in the opening match of the season in the history of the Paeroa club.
