NO DRIVER’S LICENSE

MOTOR CYCLIST FINED NO WARRANT OF FITNESS For operating a motor cycle without a driver’s license, C. V. Smythe of Waitakaruru was fined £1 with court costs 12s by Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Paeroa Magistrate’s Court on Monday. On a second charge of not having a warrant of fitness for the motor cycle Smythe was fined £1 with court costs 10s. Mr J. Pascoe, the Paeroa traffic inspector, stated that on June 13 he stopped Smythe, who was riding a motor cycle through Ngatea. He found that Smythe did not possess a driver’s license nor did he have a warrant of fitness for the motor cycle. Smythe had said that he had a warrant of fitness but it was at home. He had been asked to produce it but had not done so.
