PAEROA RIFLE CLUB OPENING OF THE SEASON J. JOHANSEN’S GOOD SCORE i - The Paeroa Defence Rifle Club held its first shoot of the 1948-49 season at Komata on Saturday. The light was constantly changing and at times light rain made shooting difficult. A good attendance was registered and shooting was on a high level for the first shoot after the winter recess. Two 200 yard shoots were held and the scoring was as follows: J. Johansen, scored 90, handicap 10, total 100; F. Johansen 87, ,15, 98; P. Childerhouse 85, 12, 97; O. Satherley 84, 12, 96; P. Young 78, 17, 95; V. Sherson 89, 6, 95; L. Dick 78, 15, 93; V. Hooper 77, 15, 92; R. Wilson 74, 17, 91; P. Swetman 70, 17, 87; B. Gwilliam 80, 6, 86; A. Johansen, 64, 20, 84; A. Beck, 64, 20, 84*; G. Shaw 73, 10, 83; G. Partridge 61, 20, 81; L. Cooper 53, 15, 68; F. Shrieber 47, 20, 67.
