MEN’S HOCKEY
KINGSEAT DEFEATED WIN FOR PAEROA ONE TO NIL A men’s hockey team from Kingseat were the guests of the Paeroa Men’s Hockey Club over the weekend. They arrived on Saturday morning and after lunch played a very enjoyable game of hockey. Kingseat were unlucky not to score and Paeroa came out the winners with one goal to Kingseat’s nil, D. Kemp scoring. Mrs E. Tibbotts and Mr A. Davies were referees. After the game players were entertained at afternoon tea.
KAIHERE THE LEADERS , HOCKEY ON THE PLAINS With the end of the second round of the Hauraki Plains Hockey Association’s competitions, Kaihere is still holding the Nicholson Shield and the Johnston Cup. On Saturday, Kaihere defeated Kerepehi by six goals to one. Thames beat Waitakaruru four to nil.
