TRUCKS DERAILED

ACCIDENT NEAR TIROHIA PERMANENT WAY DAMAGED Some damage was done to the permanent way near Tirohia and two empty sheep trucks were considerably damaged yesterday when they became derailed while travelling with the mixed train which is due at the Paeroa station at 9.40 a.m. The first signs of the derailment were shown on the permanent way a little this side of the Waitoki station but the most damage to the permanent way was caused at the Tirohia station. • Working gangs were quickly on the job and the damaged trucks were left at Tirohia while the necessary repairs were effected to the permanent way so that the express to Auckland was delayed only 39 minutes while the express from Auckland was held up just under an hour.
