COMMERCE CHAMBER — MEETING IN COROMANDEL VICE-PRESIDENT RESIGNS The monthly meeting of the Coromandel Chamber of Commerce was held in the school recently, Mr A. S. Tonkin presiding. Four new members were elected for membership to the ■chamber.

The resignation of the vice-presid-.ent, Mr F. R. Holtom, owing to health reasons, was accepted with regret and it was resolved that a letter of appreciation of his services while a member be sent to him.

It was resolved to hold a dinner followed by a round table exchange of views and to invite members from

“Mercury Bay, Thames and Auckland chambers. A suggested date was the last Saturday in June and a small committee was set up to arrange details.

After a brief discussion on the Kauri clump access, Mr J. Hansen was asked to make enquiries as- to what was required and report back to the chamber. With regard to street names it was left with Mr Rowse to attend to the matter and to get the various offers of names put into effect.' •
