WORKS IN BOROUGH
MAINTENANCE DURING MONTH ROADS RECEIVE PATCHING “ Regular maintenance has been carried out in the Paeroa borough during the past month,” said Mr C. C. Webb, chairman of the Paeroa Borough Council works committee, in his report to the November meeting of the council.
“ Old Te Aroha road, Aorangi road and Arney street have 'been patched and Opatito road has now been completed and given a coat of running top. The county grader has been over it once and will, grade it regularly each week to keep it in good order until the road is sealed. The time taken by the grader is only half an hour and the money has been well spent.
“ Patching with one-inch running top metal has been done in Junction street, Opatito road, the Stopbank road continuation of Francis street and the portion of Junction road running from the end of the bitumen to the septic tank.
“ Arrangements have been made for the county grader to grade the roadway and filling at the end of Coronation street near the saleyards. As soon as this is completed the whole will be given a coat of running top metal. This should greatly assist with the parking problem on sale days.
“ Norwood road has been given a seal coat of Distar and finished with half-inch chips. The street mower has started on its rounds and all streets will receive attention. The triple gang mower has arrived and is doing great work at the domain.”
