- ■ i i - — MEN BEATEN BY LADIES MATCH WITH TE AROHA The annual match,. ladies versus men, was played by the Paeroa Golf Club on Saturday and resulted in a win for the ladies by six' games to two. Many of the games were evenly contested but the liberal handicap l of seven biscs conceded to the ladies proved somewhat difficult to the men. During the week-end a match was

played on. the Paeroa links between the local club and Te Aroha. The results were as follows: Ladies, Paeroa 6, Te Aroha nil; men, Paeroa 5, Te Aroha 4; one game was- all square. A four ball best ball medal competition run in conjunction with the match resulted in a win for L. J. Shaw and J. Sarjant with a good gross score of 10 and nett 591. In connection with the forthcoming open day it would assist the committee if the local members would lodge their entries with the secretary, J. Ganley, on on before Saturday next.
